Gosford Show May 6th -7th 2006

Central Coast Unions hosted a stall at the Gosford Show over the weekend of the 6th-7th May and it was an outstanding success. The information offered by the stall was extremely well received, with virtually no opposition to our presence or point of view. Even people who professed no affiliation with the union movement, declared that the government had gone too far and were extremely dissatisfied with the new laws.

Thanks to the support of the ACTU we were able to distribute the latest information on the "NoChoices" legislation and further the campaign against this disgraceful attack on workers and their families. Over the two days, a huge amount of information (pamphlets, stickers, >750 balloons etc) was distributed into the Central Coast community to help maintain the information flow against this government.

Numerous people approached the stall to describe their experiences already under this legislation, from being unfairly sacked to a loss of conditions. This local experience can only harden our determination to continue the fight.
